BIOGRAPHY
Morjane Ténéré is a singer-songwriter inspired by folk and blues music. Her voice moves people to tears.
Ténéré means “desert” in Tamasheq, the language of the Tuareg people, yet it also evokes vastness, magic and resilience. The Ténéré region is known for its immense seas of sand and for the Tree of Ténéré, once considered one of the most isolated trees on Earth before its destruction.
This imagery resonates with the themes explored in Morjane's songs: the urgency of protecting our planet, honoring our ancestors, and nurturing bonds of sisterhood.
She has performed over 300 concerts around the world, from iconic Parisian concert halls to eco-villages, including occupied theaters in Athens and a lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Iceland.
EP - BIRTH
“Sitting somewhere between Aldous Harding and Aurora in terms of vocal playfulness, with a glorious traditional folk ilk, ‘Higher’ is an instantly captivating mantra of self-actualisation and intuitive thinking”
In 2019, Morjane wrote a song every day for 100 days. Since then, she has composed hundreds of songs. She recorded four of them to bring her first opus, Birth, to life.
